Iceland Pics

blue lagoon Iceland, originally uploaded by m patrizio.

I uploaded a few pics from Iceland to my flickr page. I might add a few more next week.

The photo above was taken at the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa located in Southwestern Iceland.

Let me tell you...it is amazing! The best tourist trap ever! It was like a giant sci-fi neon blue milky jacuzzi. Supposedly the minerals in the water are very healthy for you and can help cure some skin diseases. That is what they claim anyway. It was very surreal, not only because of the beautiful color and that you are swimming in a lava pit but also because I was able to expose my super-white, flabby, bikini-clad bod in the middle of November!

Awesome new book- An Illustrated Life!

I am so honored to be in Danny Gregory's new book An Illustrated Life. I just received it in the mail today and it is gorgeous! This book takes you inside the sketchbooks of 50 artists, illustrators and designers. I love it because it has a great mix of styles from creators in different artistic stages of their lives. I have only owned it for half of a day and I am already so inspired to whip out my sketchbook and get back to work!

You can find it on Amazon here.

Reykjavik purchases

Here's some goodies I brought back from my quick trip to Iceland. I purchased these at a shop called Pipar og Salt in Reykjavik. Pipar og Salt was an awesome shop with a friendly shopkeeper that had a great selection of goods from Scandinavia. How can I resist a wooden bird spoon and mini gnome fork? Also I had to buy some sneakers cause the boots I was wearing decided to bust open at the seams and my big toe popped out in the front. Big toe poppin' out of your shoe is never a good look unless your a hobo.

I will post some pics from the trip some time this week.

It's internet intermission time, folks!

I will be away from my beloved internets for a few days. When I return I am going to have a 50% off sale in my Etsy shop on almost everything. I want to make some space and refresh my shop with some new items for the holiday season.

Illustration Friday- "wise"

It is not wise to eat after 9 p.m...but Mr. Blackbean does it anyway!

A "real" jack-o-lantern container for Timmie

The mini plastic container I found was still too big for little Timsy. I ended up having to crochet one. The J-O-L came out slightly more evil looking than my illustrated version, but I still think it is okay for my first attempt.

not the phantom

not the phantom, originally uploaded by m patrizio.

Here was my last minute "costume". I was literally stitching on the raindrops in the car on the way to the party. I highly do not recommend sewing while in motion ~ I had to try really hard not to barf all over myself. Barf on your clothing= never a good look.

At the party some guy was like, " oh.. the phantom of the opera..."

No... just a cloud with rain.

I hate parties.

fake it till you make it

well, fake it till it manifests itself.

Someone asked me if I could make them a Timmie with the bear outfit and the jack-o-lantern bucket (from the last post). They were disappointed when I let them know that the bucket is just an illustration. Then on Saturday, at the last minute, Sal and I decided to go to a party and they were giving out mini jack-o-lantern buckets with a few candies inside!
